Artist
Art is a solitude for my busy mind, where I explore my surroundings, my thoughts and the physical ways which my chronic symptoms can manifest. I’m also in a constant flux of wonderment and awe at the things women do, and often find my thoughts exploring the many transitions they take on throughout their life.
I work predominately with ink & paper, incorporating photography, sculpture and sometimes found materials. I’m currently exploring mark making, finding the performance of the process just as valuable as the results. Each mark feels like a fluttering thought, that eventually combine to build the bigger picture. I use black, white and sometimes pink - the contrast of black and white and the uses of baker-miller pink is never far from my mind.
Since moving to France from the UK, I have been able to leave my learned expectations behind and ignore the perceptions of others. I’ve also chosen to embrace the feeling of being lost, accepting the limitations of my health whilst balancing the line of delusion without completely letting go of reality…
